About Me

Hello hello hello! I'm Vishnu Kadaba - a Computer Engineering/Computer Science student on a full-tuition scholarship at the University of Southern California 🏫 in sunny Los Angeles 🌴. I am deeply interested in the domains of data science and software engineering to be applied in the fields of Gen-AI 🤖, neuroscience 🧠, and linguistics 🗣.

My journey in tech began with learning C in school and has since been growing rapidly with explorations in C++, Python, Javascript, and reading loads of AI/ML and deep learning papers. My career has been an exciting blend of research 🔬, projects 🛠️, and corporate work 💼.

In research, I was involved in the development of a neural network for cheiloscopic analysis at RUAS (patent 📝 pending!) and detecting and optimizing an inhibitor for a fungal pathogen, Puccinia coronata at IU Bloomington (wrote a paper for the first time!!). I founded my own startup 💡, Handover, with a friend, where we automate code documentation and received really good traction, winning the grand prize 🏆 at USC's startup incubator competition. I worked at Ushur🔗 as a Data Science Intern where I deployed, tested, and built pipelines for LLMs to be used in the process of Customer Experience Automation. I have attended and won major prizes at hackathons like LAHacks (UCLA) and HackMIT (MIT)! I currently work at Vellum AI (YC W23) 🔗 as a Solutions Engineering Intern

Outside of tech, my hobbies lie in studying maps 🌍 in-depth (I seriously have an obsession), dancing 🕺 (Bharatanatyam), playing cricket 🏏, and adventuring. I love polo shirts and exploring new places with my friends 🤠. I also sing (pretty well) in the shower.
